Visual design exploration. One might never consider the design of a water tower to be something worthy of visual exploration through rendering. This was not the case in regards to the new Glens Head water towers design. The new towers design aesthetic had to be more appealing than what was previously existing (shown right). The client also needed a clear side by side comparison of new options versus current. This was achieved through intensive processing of existing photos in conjunction with BIM modeling to create the hybrid images shown above. Rendering exploration for this project gave the client a very clear visual of new vs old. It also allowed for real perspective explorations on the new towers color and aesthetic. The client was able to fully understand the impacts visually long before breaking ground for construction.
